Police secured the release of a family from its own member in Paposh Nagar area of Karachi, 24NewsHD Channel reported late Monday.

Arif held up his family on gunpoint and started firing. Local police rushed to the site and attempt to hold negotiations with him but to no avail. 

He kept on firing shots making police retaliate against the attack, leaving Arif dead. The captive family remained unhurt.
