Trump threatens journalists over leaked Iran strike secrets
The leak of classified information related to a potential U.S. attack on Iran has sparked a heated response from President Donald Trump, who has indicated possible legal action against the journalists responsible for publishing the sensitive details.
In an interview with an American news outlet, President Trump stated that an investigation will be launched to determine how the intelligence report was leaked. He expressed his intention to compel the journalists who published the story to reveal their sources.
“We will make those reporters disclose their sources,” Trump said, emphasising that failure to comply would lead to legal proceedings against both the journalists and their informants.
The president further complained about the media coverage that followed the operation, particularly targeting CNN and The New York Times, which he accused of spreading "fake news". He said the reports questioned whether Iranian nuclear facilities were actually destroyed during the alleged strike.
