Dar chairs advisory board meeting on autism, reaffirms commitment to inclusive support system

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Tuesday chaired a meeting of the Advisory Board of the Center of Excellence for Autism, where participants reviewed progress on autism-related facilities and discussed measures to strengthen support services for children with autism.

The meeting focused on improving autism-related facilities, promoting early intervention and advancing inclusive education to better support children with autism.

During the session, the government reaffirmed its commitment to establishing a comprehensive support system for children with autism across the country.

Officials from the Federal Ministry of Education briefed the meeting on plans for the establishment of a modern autism center in Islamabad, outlining the proposed facilities and services.

The meeting also incorporated expert opinions, with participants emphasizing the need to adopt world-class standards and facilities for autism care and education.

Dar directed the relevant institutions to accelerate work on the project while ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained.

The meeting was attended by Tariq Bajwa, the federal secretaries of education and health, along with other senior government officials.
