Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi Monday called on his colleague and PM’s Assistant for Youth Affairs Usman Dar to discuss range of issues including the establishment of the corona tiger force.
Qureshi told Dar that “PM wants to direct youth’s passion and energy into a force aimed at helping the needy in the fight against the coronavirus.”
“Our tigers are now the corona tiger force,” Qureshi said and added that the government fully realizes the people’s miseries in this critical time that forced people behind the doors.
“Our best response amid this time of crisis is the formation of the tiger force that will help the deserving ones.”
Usman Dar conveyed to the minister that “the process of the formation of the corona tiger force has already begun,” and added that all the volunteers would be inducted irrespective of their political affiliations.
PM’s assistant further said that the volunteer force would be deployed as a vigilant force to monitor the quarantine centres, and “in extreme situations, to ensure the provision of food supply at the doorsteps of the people in need.”
Dar said that the registration process for the volunteers would begin through the Citizen Portal from March 31 to April 10.
