The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) on Tuesday notified 65 paisas per unit increase in the electricity rate for the ex-Wapda Distribution Companies (Discos) to generate about Rs4.590 billion additional revenue, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The increase was allowed on account of monthly fuel cost adjustment (FCA) for electricity consumed in February and would be charged from consumers in April billing month.
The regulator had conducted the public hearing on the subject today (Tuesday) under the chair of Tauseef Farooqi.
The consumers could not get relief of Rs210 million due to the low supply of LNG in February.
