The Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) has strongly condemned the demand for the resignation of the chief justice of Pakistan, describing it as a conspiracy against the judiciary.

The demand for the resignation of the country’s top judge is a ‘conspiracy’ against the judiciary, the PBC said in a statement. The lawyers stand with the judiciary, it maintained adding that any attempt to weaken the judiciary will not be allowed to succeed.

"The council said after meeting with the prime minister, the chief justice floated the proposal of the creation of a commission on the the judges' letter

And former chief justice Tasadeq Jilani seconds it.

Six judges of IHC wrote a letter of interference with the judicial affairs.

The CJP summoned a full court session of the Supreme Court and held a meeting with the prime minister.

The government formed a commission under an ex-SC judge to look into the matter.

The PTI demurred the commission and demanded the formation of a judicial commission.
