The annual Matric examinations under the auspices of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore continued in the city, and candidates will appear for the English subject today, reported 24News HD TV Channel on Monday.

The English paper will be held in 801 examination hall in the morning shift, and the same subject paper will be held in the 764 examination halls in the second shift.

A total of 285,000 candidates are expected to sit for the matriculation exams in Lahore this year. To accommodate this large number, authorities have established 880 examination centres across the city.

To ensure transparency and prevent malpractice, 26 examination centres will be monitored through CCTV cameras. In addition, Section 144 will be enforced at all examination centres to maintain order and security.

The Lahore board has made it clear that no unauthorised person will be allowed to enter examination centres. These measures aim to provide a fair and controlled environment for all candidates appearing in the exams.

The matriculation exams will continue until April 16, with the final papers scheduled for Punjabi and Islamic History.

Following the conclusion of matric exams, Class 9 examinations will begin on April 17.
