Imran Khan decides not to appear before JIT on May 9 incidents

 

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has decided not to appear before the joint investigation team (JIT) formed to investigate the attacks on Jinnah House and Askari Tower in Lahore today, 24NewsHD TV channel reported citing informed sources.

The JIT, headed by DIG Kamran Khan, had summoned Imran Khan at 4pm today at the DIG Investigation Office in Qila Gujjar Singh.

The JIT was to interrogate Imran Khan regarding the May 9 incidents.

It is to be noted here that the Punjab government had formed 10 different JITs to investigate the incidents of May 9.

Imran Khan had been nominated in the cases registered at Sarwar Road, Shadman and Race Course police stations.

On the other hand, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore has cancelled the search warrants for the Zaman Park residence of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.

“The date for the search warrants was till May 18 which has passed. Therefore, they are cancelled,” the court said.

“Police can file the petition again for search warrants if needed,” it added.

Imran Khan had filed a plea to cancel the search warrants for his house.

The police investigator later filed a new application seeking fresh search warrants for PTI chief's residence which the court approved and issued the news warrants. The police officer said there is not for these warrants as the investigation was continuing

The court issued the new search warrants and disposed of the plea filed by Imran Khan.

Imran Khan submits surety bonds worth Rs100,000 each in three May 9 cases

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan submitted surety bonds worth Rs100,000 each to an anti-terrorism court (ATC) of Lahore in three May 9 cases, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The guarantor submitted the surety bonds to the court in the presence of Imran Khan.

The court had granted interim bail to Imran Khan in May 9 cases till June 2 on the condition of submitting surety bonds worth Rs100,000 each in three cases.
