Punjab Police have been deployed in Kashmore to thwart Multan powershow by opposition alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).
The TV channel reported that vehicles entering from Sindh to Punjab started are only allowed after thorough checking.
Punjab police have carried out a crackdown in several cities and detained workers of political parties ahead of Qasim Bagh Stadium jalsa. PDM leaders have severely criticized the government and termed it as a symbol of fear of popularity of PDM narrative among the public.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government did not convince the opposition to put off its protest campaign in the wake of the second wave of Covid-19.
As per reports, police also stopped many vehicles at Kot Sabzal (Punjab Sindh border) on the National Highway and blocked it for PPP workers coming from Sindh to participate in the party’s foundation day event in Multan.
It is pertinent to note that PPP foundation day coincides with the PDM show hosted by the PPP.
