Motorway sections closed amid dense fog
Police spokesperson advises motorists to avoid unnecessary travel and contact helpline 130 for information

Dense fog caused the authorities to close different parts of motorways on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the motorways police spokesperson, Motorway (M-2) was closed from Lahore to Sheikhupura due to heavy fog.
Lahore-Multan Motorway (M-3) was also closed from Faizpur to Rajana.
Lahore-Sialkot Motorway was also closed due to dense fog.
Motorway (M-1) was closed from Peshawar Toll Plaza to Burhan while Swat Expressway was closed from Colonel Sher Khan Interchange to Ismailia.
The motorways police spokesperson advised the motorists to use front and rear fog lights.
He also advised them to avoid unnecessary travel. “Avoid speeding and keep a proper distance from other vehicles on road,” he added.
“The motorists can contact helpline 130 for information and assistance. Information can also be obtained from Humsafar App of the motorways police,” he averred.
Later, around 10:00 am, Motorways, M2 and M3, were reopened for traffic as the fog lilfted.
