The date for filing tax returns has been extended, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.

The government has announced extending the tax returns’ filing date till December 15.

Earlier, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) extended the last date to November 30 for filing tax returns for the year 2022. 

Experts believe that the FBR should have resolved the matter under Section 7E of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001 before setting a deadline for return filing.

The last date for filing income tax returns was September 30. However, through circulars, the FBR granted the date extension twice.
