Rohit Sharma breaks Shahid Afridi’s ODI sixes record
India’s star batter Rohit Sharma carved out another historic achievement as he broke former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi’s long-standing record for the most sixes in One-Day Internationals (ODIs) during the match against South Africa.
Entering the fixture needing three sixes to surpass Afridi, Rohit reached the milestone in his 277th ODI appearance.
The 38-year-old right-hander emphatically overtook the record, pulling off a trademark hook shot against Marco Jansen that sailed over long leg on the fourth delivery of the 19th over.
