The legal team of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif has finalized its strategy for his return to Pakistan after consulting with him and his family members, 24News HD TV Channel reported on Saturday.
According to sources, self-exiled former premier Mian Nawaz Sharif's legal team will file an application for protective bail in the Lahore High Court (LHC) two days before Sharif's return to Pakistan.
The legal team expects to get a protective bail of 3 to 7 days from the court, which will prevent law enforcement agencies from arresting Nawaz Sharif at the airport.
As per the legal team's strategy, Nawaz Sharif will surrender in the Islamabad High Court the next day after holding a public meeting at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore on his return home.
The sources also said that Sharif will not have to go to jail immediately after his return, as he can benefit from the acquittal of his daughter Maryam Nawaz Sharif and her husband Cap (Retd) Safdar Awan in the same case in which he was convicted.
There are chances that the court may suspend the decision to declare him as a proclaimed offender in the case, the sources added.
