Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz visits flood-hit areas, consoles affected families in Kasur

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif Sunday reached Talwar Post in the border area during heavy rains and visited flood-relief operations in Kasur district, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

She inspected the newly established relief camp, where she personally welcomed families arriving by rescue boats from the flood-hit area of Gatti Kalingar.

In a humane gesture, the chief minister picked up an infant and handed the child over to the mother, while also inquiring about the well-being of women and children rescued from marooned villages. She offered words of comfort to the displaced families and assured them of continued government support.

During her visit, two large rafts carrying 55 cattle and a farmer’s family reached the site in her presence. The family had managed to shift not only their livestock but also a tractor, motorcycle rickshaw, and essential equipment from the submerged village.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said the provincial government stood firmly with the affected communities and would continue efforts to ensure relief and rehabilitation.
