CWG: India defeats Pakistan by 8 wickets

Indian female cricket team defeated Pakistan by 8 wickets at Edgbaston, Birmingham in the Group A clash between the sides in Common Wealth Games (CWG) on Sunday.

Pakistan captain Bismah Maroof won the toss and decided to bat first. Due to rain, the match was reduced to 18 overs a side.

In the match, Pakistan scored only 99 runs and all its 10 wickets fell down in 18 overs. Pakistan’s Muneeba Ali was the highest scorer with 32 runs in 30 balls. Alia Raiz made 18 runs and Captain Bismah Maroof got 17 runs.

Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana scored an unbeaten 63 off 42 balls. Indian bowler Sneh Rana took two wickets in one over while Radha Yadav also registered two wickets to her name. Renuka Singh, Shafali Verma claimed a wicket each.
