Now the driving licenses of drivers of vehicles emitting smoke will be suspended, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

In this regard, Chief Traffic Officer Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi said along with the driving licenses of commercial vehicles, route permits will also be suspended. 

Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi said trolleys without tarpaulins and dumpers are banned from entering Lahore city and in this regard 1013 cases have been registered for violations.

He said as many as 45 special teams have also been deployed at entry and exit points of the city.

In the current month, 3649 vehicles emitting smoke and 2183 vehicles causing pollution were challaned, CTO said.

He said action was taken against 6820 vehicles without fitness certificate and dilapidated condition.

Tractor trolleys are not allowed to run without tarpaulins, water and other safety measures, Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi said.

He said vehicles emitting smoke are also being challaned with the help of artificial intelligence system.
