Christians celebrate Easter festival

Tarar joins Easter function in church in Lahore

The Christian community across the country celebrated the Easter festival with enthusiasm and devotion today (Sunday).

Despite Ramazan, hotels and fast food outlets in different cities of the country including Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukker, Lahore, Gujranwala, Multan, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, are also opened today at the request of the Christian community.

Amusement parks in many of the cities are also open with the facility of swings and limited food stalls.

For the convenience of the Christian community, special arrangements have been made for the delivery of food parcels at doorstep by all major hotels and fast food chains.

In celebration of Easter, all the churches in most of the cities are beautifully decorated with colourful flags and electric lanterns.

On the eve, Easter celebrations were held at different major Churches and special songs of Jesus and Mary were performed on this occasion.

The police and the administrations have also made foolproof security arrangements for the Easter celebrations across the country and thousands of cops have been deployed at the churches of cities.

On Saturday night, the Christians celebrated the moon night. They continued their Easter shopping till late at night in all commercial centres and bazaars of the cities.

A large number of families visited cemeteries after worship in Churches to visit their loved ones on the occasion of Easter.

Special prayers were offered for their loved ones with flowers in their hands.

Tarar joins function in church in Lahore

Meanwhile, Federal Minister of Information Attaullah Tarar's has participated a function held in connection with Easter festival at Eternal Life Church Kot Lakhpat Lahore on Sunday.

Addressing the function, the information minister greeted to the entire Christian community on the day of Easter.

Attaullah Tarar said that he has come to the assembly as a representative of 70 thousand Christians.

The Christian community has played an important role in the freedom and progress of this country as Cecil Chowdhury and others have sacrificed most, said Attaullah Tarar.

He said Muslims and Christians are equal brothers and promoting peace and prosperity is extremely important for all.

“Will work for the welfare of the Christians of all Pakistan”, Attaullah Tarar said.

According to the constitution of Pakistan, equal opportunities will be provided to all, Attaullah Tarar further said.

Happy Easter to you all from the Prime Minister of Pakistan and Chief Minister of Punjab, said Attaullah Tarar.
