June 1, 2020 05:11 AM

Sindh Minister for Labour, Education and Literacy and Human Resources Saeed Ghani Sunday said that all students in the province will be promoted as the situation regarding holding examinations is uncertain.

Addressing a press conference in Karachi, he said no special exams will be held this year. “Ninth class students will be promoted to 10th grade while matric students will be prompted on the basis of their ninth grade marks.”

“Eleventh grade students will be promoted to 12th grade while 12th grade students will be prompted with three percent extra marks.”

He said he could not speak more as the situation is uncertain whether the exams will be held this year or not.

He said that failed students will get 33 percentage and will be promoted while private schools will also promote the students with the same formulae.

While commenting on the Mirza Shahzad Akbar’s recent news conferences and recent sugar and wheat inquiry commission report, he said that Sindh government did not give any subsidy from 2018 to 2020 and sugar prices were increased from Nov 2018 to Nov 2019.

He alleged that few people in the federal government are being given facilities in the name of the amnesty schemes. “PPP has faced the Joint Investigation Teams (JITs) in the past and is facing them even now.”

He said, “PTI has started working against the PPP and PML-N.”

“People were looted with inflated sugar price.” He questioned why did the NAB not arrest the Prime Minister?

It was the federal cabinet that allowed medicine import from India but later they made noise on it.

He said those people who came back through PIA special flights were charged three times more fare than the normal rate of the air ticket. Contrary to the fact that oil prices have plunged and there was no additional burden imposed on the PIA.
