Punjab govt merges 3,135 CIA seats into CCD

The Punjab Finance Department has merged 3135 Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) seats into the Crime Control Department (CCD), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday. 

According to a letter, the posts were abolished after the end of the CIA while the posts of executive staff and ministerial cadre have been merged. 

The salaries of the new posts will be paid from the budget expenditure of the current financial year 2025/26. 

The CIA seats merged into the Crime Control Department include 60 seats for inspectors, 136 for sub-inspectors, 370 for assistant sub-inspectors, 313 for head constables, and 2225 for constables. 

The ministerial cadre seats include 3 for assistants, 1 for senior scale stenographers, 2 for stenographers, 5 for senior clerks, 3 for data entry operators, 13 for junior clerks, and 4 for Naib Qasid have been merged.

A letter was sent to the IG Punjab by the Punjab Home Department.
