The government has decided to consult its allies and opposition parties on the prevailing situation in Indian-occupied Kashmir and convened a national consultative conference in Islamabad at 10:00 AM on August 4 for this purpose.

According to sources, the government is reaching out to its allies and opposition parties to make the consultative process a success. Sources say the government has also contacted the JUI-F for participation in the Kashmir conference, but the opposition party has refused to attend the event. Sources say the JUI-F is of the opinion that the incumbent PTI government has sold out Kashmir therefore the opposition party will not sit with the ruling party.

There are reports that PML-N has been assigned the task to bring the JUI-F to Kashmir conference. Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif made a phone call to JUI-F President Fazl-ur-Rehman on Monday and tried to convince him to attend the conference on Kashmir. However, Fazl refused to attend the event and said that his party alone is playing the role of a real opposition in the prevailing circumstances.
