Federal Minister for Science and Technology Shibli Faraz Wednesday asked his government to constitute a regularity authority of the environment to implement the environmental measures in Pakistan.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, Senator Shibli while talking about the environmental issues facing by the country, said improper disposal of plastic waste had a significant negative impact on the environment.

The federal minister was addressing a workshop on Effective Plastic Waste Management Challenges and Strategies for Improving Human Health in Islamabad.

Shibli said young scientists, UNESCO, PSF, relevant authorities, and citizens have to make conscious efforts to improve the environment.

He said plastic wastage was becoming a constant threat to human and aquatic lives so there was a need to establish a regulatory authority for the implementation of environmental measures.

The minister also distributed awards among the winner of an inter-university competition for developing low-cost recycling machinery.
