Startling revelations made by suspects taken into custody by the Anti-corruption Department (ACD) in connection with the leakage of papers of Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) competitive exams for appointments on 12 key posts have put question marks over the credibility of the entire exercise, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

Quoting sources, the channel reported that the suspects had confessed to having leaked all 12 papers. This has made hiring on eight vacancies of inspectors in the ACD itself doubtful. Similarly, recruitment against the vacancy of assistant director in Anti-corruption Department has also become doubtful.

Sources said the candidates who remained toppers in exams for the vacancies of inspector also used unfair means.

The PPSC had sent the list of successful candidates to the government on December 7, 2020.

Other toppers Kamran Haneef and Jahanzaib also bought leaked papers, sources added. PPSC had announced the result of exam for the vacancy of assistant director (ACD) on September 26, 2020, while the results of exams for the vacancy of inspectors in ACD were announced on September 27, 2020.

Sources added each candidate paid Rs0.5 million to the paper leakers.
