The Excise Department, Islamabad has earned a record revenue during last six months in terms of vehicles’ registration and tax, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

The excise office collected record Rs9 billion under the head of tax collection and Rs5 billion under the head of excise taxes during last six months of FY2022-23.

The excise department collected Rs4 billion under the head of FBR taxation.

Excise Director Bilal Azam said that increase in tax collection was due to facilities provided to the people.

“The department was able to collect more taxes due to door-to-door registration, online token tax and token tax collection during road checking,” he added.

He attributed bloated tax collection to services provided in different parks of Islamabad.
