Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced to establish 12 Danish schools in Balochistan, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.

The prime minister has ordered to immediately acquire land for this purpose and lay the foundation stone for the Danish schools where poor girls and boys would be imparted free and quality education.

He said there would be free education and free food in Sohbatpur. He pronounced that after ensuring all these facilities, Danish schools would be inaugurated on March 23.

PM Shehbaz was addressing the local representatives during his visit to Sohbatpur in flood-hit Balochistan on Wednesday.

The premier said that he did not see such a calamitous flood in his entire life. He said that more help was needed for the rehabilitation of the flood affectees.

While narrating his meeting with a flood-hit girl, the prime minister became sad and tears welled up in his eyes.

He informed that a Donors’ Conference would take place in Geneva on December 9 for this very purpose. But, he said, first we should strive to stand on our own feet.

“Yesterday, I talked to Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim…He assured of sending a delegation to the conference. He will also join through Zoom,” he said and mentioned his telephonic interactions with the leaders of Turkey, Qatar and UAE for the purpose.

The prime minister said he would co-chair the moot with the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

However, he said the government and people of Pakistan would have to put in their efforts for rehabilitation.

He said most of Balochistan was under the water during recent deluge. He maintained that the provincial government remained at the forefront to provide assistance to the flood affectees.

He held that the flood was a big challenge for Pakistan. He said the government had already distributed Rs100 billion among the affected people through BISP but a lot more funds were still needed to pay compensation for one million houses destroyed by the flood and many people were yet awaiting assistance for their rehabilitation.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid a day-long visit to the flood-ravaged Sohbatpur city of Balochistan to review the ongoing reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts.

During the visit, the chief secretary of Balochistan briefed the prime minister about the rehabilitation of flood survivors and reconstruction of the destroyed infrastructure.

The prime minister inaugurated the new building of the flood-ravaged Government Boys Secondary School of Kili Jiya Khan.

Moreover, he also interacted with the flood-affected people to inquire about their condition.
