Jhelum police arrest 26 ‘criminals’ in separate raids

In a large-scale crackdown on lawless elements in the district, Jhelum police claimed to have arrested total 26 persons, including five those who were nominated in cases of murder, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday. 

Spokesman for the police said that the cops had also recovered narcotics, weapons, drugs, cash and stolen items from the suspects, and that investigation was underway to arrest their accomplices.   

He further said that the suspect who had burnt to death another man after torturing him over a petty matter in the jurisdiction of Mangla police station on February 26 was also among those taken into custody.

“Besides that the police have also arrested the assailants who had shot several persons dead in the jurisdiction of Saddar police station over a money dispute on February 20,” he elaborated.
