Sindh fixes Rs250 per mound sugarcane price

Sindh Cabinet led by Sindh CM Mura Ali shah approved and fixed the minimum support price (MSP) of sugarcane per mound at Rs250, 24NewsHD TV channel.

Murad Ali Shah took the decision in a cabinet meeting held today.

Cabinet also directed the agriculture department to consult with all stakeholders on the wheat MSP. 

Cabinet also proposed starting the crushing season of sugarcane by Nov 15.

The federal government fixed MSP on what at Rs2000 per mound and Sindh at Rs1800 per mound last year, however, this year due to an increase in prices of petrol and diesel the agriculture department of Sindh urged CM to increase the MSP rate.

All ministers, secretaries, advisors, Chief Secretary, and concerned officials attended the meeting.
