Sugarcane cultivation banned in Daharki over dacoits’ threat to police

On the request of the police, the district administration has issued an order banning the cultivation of sugarcane in view of the threat posed by dacoits to the police posts on the Sindh-Punjab border near Daharki, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

According to the order issued by the Deputy Commissioner Office, the cultivation of sugarcane near the National Highway and Motorway will be banned.

Cultivators will not be able to cultivate within 1500 meters of the national highway M-5, text of DC order says.

According to the Deputy Commissioner, the robbers hide in the sugarcane crop after robbing passengers.
