Five police personnel dismissed on Hafizabad sessions court firing incident

Punjab Inspector General Police dismissed five police personnel including the security in-charge were dismissed after a shooting incident in Hafizabad sessions court, reported 24News HD TV channel on Saturday.  

At least two people were shot dead and three severely injured while going for a case hearing in Hafizabad sessions court during police custody. Five accused were brought handcuffed to the sessions court from the jail for hearing when the opponent group opened fire. Due to firing, two were killed on the spot and three were severely injured.

The incident happened due to a long-running rivalry between the Jutt group and the Rajput alias Shahid Gonga group.

Both the rival group came for a court hearing before sessions judge Nadeem Anjum Mian where the incident occurred. During the appearance inside the court, the armed men from the Jutt group opened fire on five people of the Gonga group. 

The intelligence has pointed out many times about the inadequate security situation at the sessions court. Punjab IGP has taken notice of the incident.
