Esra Bilgic ‘shocked and terrified’ over Beirut explosion

A massive explosion took place in Beirut, capital of Lebanon, injuring thousands of people. The blast sent a huge shockwave damaging buildings miles away from the incident point.

Social media around the world has been flooded with prayers for the victims of the blast.

Turkish actress Esra Bilgic aka Halime Sultan too sent out prayers and expressed her condolences amid the unfolding tragedy.

Esra, who portrays the lead role in historic drama series Dirilis: Ertugrul or Ertugrul Ghazi turned to Twitter and said, “Shocking. Terrifying. I’m speechless.”

She extended her deepest condolences to the families of the victims of the blast. She said, “Deepest condolences to everyone caught up with this unfurling disaster in Lebanon.”

Meanwhile, a report stated that the blast was caused due to firecracker warehouse near the port. Later, reportedly an official has stated that it was caused by confiscated "highly explosive" materials.
