The Sialkot International Airport has been closed completely for the flight operation from today (Monday) for the next 15 days in order to carry out necessary maintenance work, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

However, the Sialkot airport’s flight operation is being operated alternately from the Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore.

The PIA and Emirates flights will be operated from the Lahore airport.

The Sialkot airport will remain closed from Dec 5 to Dec 20.

The manager said that the Sialkot airport runway No. 04/22 has been closed for repair and maintenance work adding that the Lahore airport would be used as an alternative to continue its flight operation.

However, due to rush of passengers owing to extra flights, the Lahore airport authorities have adopted a zig zag system at immigration points.
