GB Chief Minister writes letter to PM to establish Motorway Police on Karakoram Highway

Aleem Khan reaches GB to address highway issues with CM on PM Shehbaz Sharif's direction

The Cheif Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Haji Gulbar Khan wrote a letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to establish Motorway Police at the Karakoram Highway to curb accidents on the route.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the GB chief minister said in his letter to the PM that the motorway police should be established to curb accidents on Karakoram Highway.
The GB chief minister said in the post that orders have been given for a transparent investigation of the tragic traffic accident near Chilas. He suggested that steps should be taken to avoid future traffic accidents in the light of the facts.
In response, Federal Minister of Communications Abdul Aleem Khan visited the Chief Minister's Secretariat Gilgit-Baltistan along with the Director General of FWO Major General Abdul Sami and a federal secretary. He met the GB chief minister and discussed the dilapidated condition of the Karakoram Highway and Jaglot Skardu Road and other issues including new projects of tunnels in the Chief Minister's Secretariat.
On this occasion, GB Chief Minister Haji Gulbar Khan informed the Federal Minister about the dilapidated condition of KKH and JSR.
CM Haji Gulbar Khan said that it is inevitable to further improve the condition of Karakoram Highway and Jaglot Skardu Road. He said there is a need for projects like Shuntar and Babusar Tunnel in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Gulbar Khan expressed regret over Chilas bus accident and said it is very heartbreaking. He suggested an alternative steel bridge in Chilas Darn area.
Federal Minister of Communications Abdul Aleem Khan said he will work as an ambassador of Gilgit-Baltistan as it is our home. He said Motorway will be built from Mansehra to Gilgit-Baltistan and this will be a game changer.
He said Gilgit-Baltistan is more beautiful than Switzerland and if the roads are improved, more than 10 million tourists could visit here in a year. He said his government was working on posting of Motorway Police in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Aleem Khan said, "I have personally come to inspect the Karakoram Highway and Jaglot Skardu Road on the instructions of the Prime Minister.
