Wheat crisis: Kissan Ittehad wants agriculture emergency, announces protests

Raising demand for an agriculture emergency, Pakistan Kissan Ittehad President Khalid Mahmood Khokhar announced staging countrywide protests.

“We have decided to stage countrywide protests We will start the protest from Multan. Our protest will continue till the imposing of agricultural emergency, ” Khokhar said while talking to the media at the Multan Press Club on Sunday.

He added: “Policymakers never allowed agriculture to develop.

“Thousands of farmers will join our protest.

“Pakistan has nothing but agriculture. “

He claimed: “I informed the army chief and the prime minister about the wheat scam.”

Khalid Khokhar demanded stern punishment for the persons involved in the wheat scam.

 “The persons involved in the wheat scam should be hanged.”

He said: “Flour lines claimed the lives of two dozen women.”

He said the grower is being ‘humiliated’.

He said the Indian government is facilitating its farmers.

He said urea is being sold at a lower price in India.

 “Farmers in India get free 600 units of electricity
