Punjab cabinet on Friday approved the removal of the word ‘proscribed’ from the name of religious party Tehreek-e-Labbaik (TLP) completing the process to unban the party, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Punjab Home Department has been apprised from the development of the Punjab cabinet.

Now, Punjab Home Department will inform the federal government. On approval from the federal government, the Interior Ministry would issue the unbanning notification.

In April, the federal government formally banned the Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), whose supporters staged three days of protests across the country after the arrest of their leader Saad Rizvi, who is still behind the bars.

In a recent significant development, government and religious party TLP signed a 13 points accord—whose sections have not been disclosed yet—resuming the life and traffic on the G.T Road.
