Karachi police have turned out to be involved in the murder of its own ‘informer’, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
24News TV channel has brought forth some bone-chilling facts which show how the chalia mafia managed to get Fazl killed.
According to details, people associated with the mafia plotted to kill Fazl at a Jirga held at provincial capital’s Sohrab Goth area.
Body of the deceased was found dumped in bushes in Steel Town on July 17.
Customs Intelligence personnel had seized chalia of worth Rs70 million in June due to information provided by Fazl. This infuriated mafia leader Imran Mehsud who convened a Jirga to plan murder of the informer.
According to Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) In-charge Raja Umar Khitab, Mehsud gave Rs0.5 million to a man named Usman Shah, who introduced himself as a Major in a security agency, for the murder of Fazl.
“In order to get to the informer, the suspects obtained the call data of Customs Intelligence officials,” Raja Umar Khitab said, adding Fazl was picked up from his home and brought to PIB police station in a police mobile. “From there he was taken to Steel Town where he was gunned down,” CTD in-charge explained.
He further said there was a female suspect named Fauzia who, dressed in a police uniform, would accompany police teams during raids. “She arranged the meeting of Usman Shah with SHO Haroon Korai,” CTD head said, and quoting SHO Korai, who is in policy custody, added Usman told Korai he was a security agency official and wanted to eliminate Fazl. “Then both plotted to kill the informer,” he said.
Raja Umar Khatab said although the arrest of Usman Shah had become a challenge for the CTD, but he would be arrested soon.
