Peshawar Cantt Board seals Pesco offices over tax evasion

Cantonment Board (CB) Peshawar on Wednesday sealed the offices of Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (PESCO) in Saddar area of the city over the non-payment of tax, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.  

All the offices, including those located at Sunehri Masjid Road, Defence Housing Authority (DHA) and Khyber Bazaar, were closed.   

According to the CB, these offices had not paid an amount of over Rs40 million in taxes since 2013, and that it had issued several notices to them, but there was no response from them.  

The last notice, the Board added, was sent on April 1, 2022, and when their reply was deemed not satisfactory, it was decided to seal these offices.
