Seven die in bus plunge on Hafizabad Road

At least seven people died and 24 others sustained injuries after a passenger bus skidded off the road and fell into a pond near Solangi Kharl, a village in the suburbs of Jalalpur Bhattian, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

According to the Rescue 1122, the accident occurred after the bus driver attempted to avoid a collision with a dumper on Hafizabad-Jalalpur Road.

The bus was pulled out of the pond with the help of cranes. Bodies of the deceased were also fished out of the water while those who were injured in the accident were shifted to Trauma Centre, Hafizabad.

The accident occurred due to speeding, said the rescue sources.

Tauqeer Ilyas, the Deputy Commissioner of Hafizabad, visited the trauma centre and inquired after the injured being treated there.
