The 25th death anniversary of SSP Ashraf Marth (Shaheed) was observed today (Friday), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.  

In this connection, Quran Khawani was offered at Police Lines, Gujranwala, which was named after him after his martyrdom while special prayers were offered at mosques for the salvation of his soul.   

While paying glowing tributes to Marth, the personnel and officials of Gujranwala police, in their statements, have said that his sacrifice can never be forgotten. They have vowed to follow in his footsteps. 

Marth had been shot dead by some men on May 6, 1997 while he was going to office from his home.
