Dengue claims another life in Islamabad

Dengue virus claimed another life in Islamabad taking the tally to four in last three weeks as it also infected more people across Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

Alipur Farash was an Islamabad resident and he was admitted to the Family Hospital Rawalpindi suffering from the dengue fever, but he was expired Wednesday morning. 

Sources said two dengue patients who expired in the last weeks belonged to rural and urban areas. 

Dengue grabbed Islamabad Capital Territory as the number of cases surged in the last 24 hours. As many as 62 people were infected with dengue virus fever. In the current season, 719 cases were reported in Islamabad including 486 from rural areas and 233 from urban areas.

CDA Member Administration chaired a meeting on anti-dengue measured attended by DG Civil Management, DG Health Services, DG Investment (Environment), and others. 

In Lahore, 196 new cases of dengue fever were reported including 139 from Lahore.

Punjab Health Secretary Imran Sikandar Baloch said that health teams inspected 97,088 sites to detect dengue virus and discarded dengue larva from 2.272.
