‘Angry’ Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Khan Tareen has reportedly told the PTI legislators, who had breakfast with him at his Lahore residence on Wednesday, that Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Azam Khan is primarily responsible for creating a gulf between him and Prime Minister Imran Khan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Quoting sources, the channel reported that Tareen told the lawmakers that both Azam and Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Accountability Shahzad Akbar had made a plan to get him arrested.

Quoting estranged PTI leader, who played a pivotal role in bringing PTI government to power following 2018 general elections, sources told 24News that he had suggested the formation of a Strategic Resource Unit to make bureaucracy deliver, but Azam Khan considered it a conspiracy against him and declared that he would not let the formation of an alternate body to keep an eye on bureaucracy. “Azam thought that such a body if formed would snatch powers from him,” Jahangir Khan Tareen reportedly told the lawmakers.

“A five-member gang of some PTI leaders are responsible for demeaning me in the eyes of the prime minister,” he was quoted as saying.

Tareen said he kept texting constructive proposals to the prime minister on WhatsApp.

Sources told this channel that the PTI leader communicated his version of the story to 20 members of the National as well as Punjab Assembly.

Tareen, they added, also hinted at forming a forward bloc in case what he alleged vindictive policies against him were not stopped.

The PTI leader regretted that he remained loyal to the prime minister but some elements tried to misguide him.

CM Buzdar to meet PM Imran

Following the meeting of PTI lawmakers with party leader Jahangir Khan Tareen at a breakfast, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar will meet Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad today (Wednesday).

Sources told 24News that the Punjab government had prepared the list of PTI members who had a meeting with Tareen at breakfast and those who are in touch with him.

They added that the prime minister would take the final decision with respect to these members.
