Popular morning show host Shaista Lodhi has joined Prime Minister Imran Khan Initiative to spread awareness about climate change.

Urging her fans to plant more and more trees, Shaista Lodhi said that they as a community must tread carefully and act immediately. She added saying that the beautiful planet that has sustained them for decades now needs to be protected more than ever.

Taking to her Instagram, the doctor-cum-actress wrote: “Planting a tree is a lifelong investment. The temperature in Karachi is changing one degree a year! There is a growing global consensus that climate change is humankind’s greatest threat in modern times and planting trees could help fight Climate change.”

She further adds, “Trees are natural coolers of our planet: they absorb the excess carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and help produce clouds; very needed in a desert-like Karachi, Pakistan. Plant a Tree.”
