A dacoit was killed on Monday by the firing of his own accomplices during a police encounter in Fateh Pur area of Ahmad Pur Sial, Jhang, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Reportedly, during an alleged police encounter a dacoit, Shahid Abbas, was hit by the bullets fired by his own accomplices and died on the spot. While his two companions managed to flee the scene.

According to police spokesperson, dacoit Shahid Abbas was involved in a murder case and 21 other criminal cases.

When police intercepted three suspicious motorcycle riders for checking, they opened fire on the cops. The law enforces ran towards a field and hid behind crops from where they retaliated to the dacoits firing.

The spokesperson said that dacoit Shahid died by the firing of his own accomplices and both his companions managed to run away.

The slain dacoit was wanted by Bahawalnagar police in cases of murder and dacoity incidents in Chishtian, he added.

He further informed that murdered dacoit Shahid had also injured a police officer a few days ago while putting up resistance in order to escape arrest at the hands of police.

The dead body of the slain dacoit was shifted to THQ Hospital.

Police recovered a motorcycle and a pistol from his possession.

DPO Jhang Hassan Asad Alvi said that police would soon apprehend the fleeing dacoits.
