Hira Mani, Nabeel Qureshi, Gul-e-Rana robbed of valuables by unruly mob

Pakistani ace film director Nabeel Qureshi, actors Hira Mani, Gul-e-Rana, Salman Mani, child stars and other actors were harassed and attacked by an unruly mob during the shooting of a drama in Karachi’s RIP Colony. 

Nabeel Qureshi yesterday in a series of tweets shared the details about the horrifying incident in which cast and crew members were subjected to harassment and had their valuables, including mobile phones, snatched.

The ‘Na Maloom Afraad’ director detailed that the assailants were ‘equipped with weapons.’ He said, they broke the door despite Hira’s repeated requests to behave. 

Nabeel requested Sindh Police to investigate the matter and take a strict action against the perpetrators in order to make a lesson out of this terrible incident and protect the artist community's future safety in Pakistan.

Actress Hira Mani also came forward also came forward to speak about the incident. She requested prayers for the speedy recovery of the members who got injured in the ordeal while protecting the actors.

In an interview, actor Salman Mani detailed how they barged into the house from the neighboring house. He also said that they would never come again for the shooting of the film in the area.

Mahira Khan, who has worked with Nabeel Qureshi in Quaid-e-Azam movie, was the first to react to the incident and was in a complete state of shock.

On the other hand, the first information report (FIR) of the incident has been registered at the Jamshed Quarter Police Station and at least three suspects have been held by the police. 

It was learnt that the incident occurred near Noori Baba shrine on Jamshed Road, where the residents from the next house had a dispute with the owner of the house because he had permitted the filmmaker to shoot there.

According to the police, around 40 to 50 people entered the house and attacked the team.
