Bilawal highlights PPP role in cementing Sino-Pak ties

Pakistan People's Party Chairman Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Chinese Communist Party Chairman Mao Zedong laid the foundation of Sino-Pak friendship and Benazir Bhutto Shaheed fortified it, PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto said on Tuesday. 

The foundation of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) laid in the PPP rule under the leadership of Asif Ali Zardari, he said while addressing ‘CPC and World Political Parties Summit’ – a virtual event held to commemorate 100 years of Communist Party of China.

Bilawal greeted the Chinese people on this auspicious event and heaped praise on it, saying it has become the biggest party of the world as continuity of its policies put an end to poverty and achieved the success.

China is one of the biggest financial powers of the world and the way it overcame the covid crisis is unmatchable although the pandemic slowed down growth in developed states.

He praised Chinese party's effort to get 100 million Chinese population rid of poverty after 2012 and it made possible because of CPC's pro-people policies.

Bilawal said China's progress proved that betterment of poor people is the real financial growth, he said adding that the PPP will play its part in making CPEC a success and expressed hoped that the project guarantees Pakistan's economic growth.

He recalled laying foundation stone of Gwadar port saying this added another chapter of fortifying the deep-rooted ties between the two states.

He also listed his party's feats in bringing the people of two states closer. He expressed gratitude to the CPC for providing all-out help to Pakistan in fight against coronavirus.

About international role of China, he said it has been playing a pivotal role in bettering the world, saying that China's contribution to anti-covid combat is unmatchable.
