Dilip Kumar’s magic lives on, celebrities remember the legend

As they say, ‘Legends never die, they live on in our memories’, Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar who has passed away at the age of 98 will never be able to diminish the impact he has made on our souls with his powerful skills. 

The passing away news of actor Dilip who is celebrated for his skills on a massive scale has managed to take the internet by storm as DilipKumar is the top Twitter trend currently.

Celebrities have taken to their social media handles to express their distress and grief at Dilip Kumar losing the battle against life.

While many have chosen this moment to reveal the impression Dilip has made on the masses through his engaging acting demeanour.

The President of India applauded the actor’s charm also how he was loved throughout the subcontinent. As everyone is quoting, the president also linked the demise of actor Dilip with the statement, ‘an era has ended with the death of Dilip Kumar’.

Actor Amitabh Bachchan has taken to his Twitter handle to portray immense sadness by making a smart observation, “Whenever the history of Indian cinema will be written, it shall always be before Dilip Kumar and after Dilip Kumar.”

Dr Jalil Parkar, the pulmonologist treating the actor at Mumbai's PD Hinduja Hospital has confirmed to Indian media the death of Dilip Kumar.

"With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip Saab, few minutes ago," family friend Faisal Farooqui wrote in a tweet from the actor's official account. "We are from God and to Him we return," he added.

Dilip had been admitted to hospital after experiencing breathlessness on June 30, Faisal had said. On June 6, Dilip Kumar was hospitalised after a similar complaint.

The Hindi cinema veteran was then diagnosed with bilateral pleural effusion -- a build-up of excess fluid between the layers of the pleura outside the lungs and underwent a successful pleural aspiration procedure. He was discharged after five days.

Kumar's career spans over five decades with mega hits like Mughal-e-Azam, Devdas, Naya Daur, and Ram Aur Shyam. His last big screen appearance was in the 1998 film Qila.
