  Sindh CM pays homage to police heroes, vows to build capacity of lawmen

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has paid tribute to policemen who embraced martyrdom and pledged to look after the bereaved familieis, 24NewsHD TV channel reported Sunday.

Talking to the media in Sukkur where he visited the relatives of the martyred and expressed sympathies with the bereaved.

A DSP and two station house officers (SHOs) are among the policemen who embraced martyrdom as bandits stormed a camp in Ghotki.

Murad Ali Shah paid tribute to the martyrs and reiterated his government’s resolve to adopt measures to cope with the hardcore criminals.

“Seven years ago, police and army security were needed while he had to travel. There is no area in Sindh that can be called a no-go area now,” he said as he listed his government’s feats in establishing the state writ.

Ghotki Kashmore and Shikarpur areas are difficult areas, he said, adding that the dacoits have anti-aircraft guns and latest and heavy weapons are being provided to them from outside but the police will be modernized and provided with the latest weapons to cope with such challenges.

The task has been given to the lawmen to break the supply of weapons and the government okayed Rs3.5 billion for the purchase of modern weapons, he stressed, adding that the establishment of more police stations in Ghotki has been approved.

The CM said the government could not forget the sacrifices of the police and it will not leave the children of the martyrs alone.
