In reply to the federal government’s fresh letter in which it had demanded the Punjab government to relieve CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mehmood Dogar of his duties and transfer him to Islamabad, the provincial government on Friday refused to accept the demand, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Punjab government, on the other hand, asked Centre to provide to it the list of complaints, which, as per its claim, had been received against Dogar and for which his transfer to the federal capital was being sought.

“Let the Punjab government conduct the inquiry to find out whether these complaints are true,” it replied.

It is reminded here that Center had once again written a letter to the Punjab government yesterday (Thursday) in which it demanded the latter to relieve the CCPO, Lahore of his duties and transfer him to Islamabad.

In the letter, the federal government wrote that the CCPO was wanted for questioning in connection with some complaints filed against him.  “Therefore, please issue the order for his transfer from Lahore to Islamabad so that inquiry could be conducted into complaints against him,” read the letter.

Imran also directed Dogar to carry on working as CCPO

On the other hand, it has emerged that former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan had also directed Ghulam Mehmood Dogar to carry on working as the CCPO Lahore during his meeting with him in Lahore a day before yesterday (Wednesday, October 5, 2022).

According to the insiders’ story, both Imran and Dogar also discussed the arrests of Federal Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and another Federal Minister Mian Javed Latif.

The sources disclosed that the CCPO also told Imran that the police were about to arrest Malik Asad Khokhar, the sole PML-N candidate who had won a seat in Lahore in the by-elections held on 20 Punjab Assembly seats in July 2022, but he went abroad.

Similarly, they added that the PTI chairman and the CCPO also had a detailed discussion on the cases filed against Aleem Khan and how he could be put behind bars.
