Some unknown persons shot dead a couple in Islamabad for honour, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

Reportedly, some unidentified people barged into the house of Nisar in Dhodhak Kashmirian in the limits of Sangjani police station on Tuesday night.

The intruders opened fire on Nisar and his wife killing them on the spot.

Police suspected that the murder was committed in the name of honour as the couple who originally belonged to Kohistan area contracted love marriage some time back.

The deceased girl used to live in Karachi and eloped with Nisar. Both came to Dhok Kashmirian and contracted free will marriage.

Police said that the bodies were handed over to the heirs of the couple after conducting their post mortem.
