Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit Quetta tomorrow on a one-day tour.

Prime Minister Imran Khan will hold meetings with Balochistan Governor and Chief Minister on coronavirus. The prime minister would be briefed about the coronavirus situation in the province.

On April 6, police resorted to baton charge and arrested several doctors as the Young Doctors Association (YDA) Balochistan staged a sit-in in the red zone near the Chief Minister’s House in Quetta.

The police action came as the doctors and paramedical staff wanted to move towards the Chief Minister’s House while refusing to end their protest over the failure to provide the protection gear amid the coronavirus pandemic.

On April 7, Pakistan Armed Forces spokesperson Major General Babar Iftikhar said that emergency supplies of medical equipment including PPEs being dispatched to Quetta on orders of Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa to help medical staff fight Covid-19 effectively in Balochistan. COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa said doctors and paramedics are the frontline soldiers in the war against COVID-19.
