Rivals kill Jamshed Dasti’s brother

Rivals shot dead the elder brother of a noted politician from southern Punjab, Jamshed Dasti, near Behari Colony in Muzaffargarh.

According to 24News HD TV channel, 60-year-old Mushtaq Khan Dasti, alias Dasti Pehalwan, was sitting in a Punchait (reconciliatory body) when he came under gun-attack by rivals.

Dasti’s opponent attacked him at 5:43pm near Tharmal Bypass in Sherabad, killing him on the post and injuring another person.

The injured was identified as Muhammad Zahid, 35, and shifted to a hospital.

The local police reached the site and started investigation. They sent the body the local district headquarters hospital for post-mortem.

District Police Office Muhammad Hassan Iqbal was supervising the probe. Police claimed to have nailed accused Ahmad Shah and his accomplice.

The Punjab police chief took notice of the incident and sought report from the DPO, a handout said, adding that the police chief vowed to bring to book the culprits at all costs.
