Heavy snow blankets Chillas, Abbottabad, Chaman

Heavy snowfall on Tuesday blanketed the upper parts of the country including Chillas, Abbottabad, killer mountain Nanga Parbat, grassland Ferry Meadows, and mountain pass Babusar Top on Karakoram Highway, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Snowfall continued in the Diamir and in surrounding areas of Chillas while intermittent snowfall continued on the mountains including Batogah Top in the upper areas since Monday night.

The residents in Chillas and surrounding areas are also facing unannounced power loadshedding.

The TV channel reported that heavy rains and strong winds continued in different parts of north-eastern Balochistan including Chaman. Kozak Taf and high mountainous areas in Balochistan received rain, light snowfall making it difficult for drivers and passengers to continue their journey towards different destinations.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department said cloudy weather conditions with rain and snowfall over hills is expected on Tuesday in Islamabad, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Upper/Central Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northeastern Balochistan. Cold and dry weather is expected elsewhere in the country.

The Met Department said in the last 24 houses (Monday) rain occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Upper Punjab and north Balochistan.

In Azad Jammu Kashmir: Muzaffarabad (City 12, Airport 06), Garhi Dupatta 09, Rawalakot 04, Kotli 02.

In Gilgit Baltistan: Skardu, Astor 07, Bunji 02, Gupis 01, Punjab: Murree 07, Attock 05, Islamabad (Zero Point) , Airport 01).

In Balochistan: Quetta (Samungli 06, City 03), Kalat 05, Zhob 03 and Dalbandin 02. Snowfall (Inches): Malam Jabba 04, Astore, Skardu 02, Kalam 01 inch.

Today’s Lowest Minimum Temperature (°C): Leh, Parachinar -04°C, Gupis -03°C, Kalam, Bagrote -02°C and Malam Jabba -01°C.
